China Kitchen Information

Tucked into a busy commercial stretch at 2121 TW Alexander Dr #122 in Morrisville, China Kitchen is the kind of neighborhood spot that locals tend to rely on when the craving for classic Chinese comfort food hits. It’s not trying to be flashy or trendy, and that’s honestly part of its charm. The location is convenient, especially if you’re working nearby or just passing through the Research Triangle area, and it’s easy to pop in for a quick takeout order or a casual dine-in experience.

The menu leans heavily into familiar favorites, offering a wide range of dishes that most diners will recognize right away. From General Tso’s chicken to lo mein and fried rice combinations, there’s a sense of consistency that regulars seem to appreciate. During a recent visit, the sesame chicken stood out for its balance of sweetness and crisp texture, while the steamed dumplings had that soft, comforting bite you’d expect from a reliable kitchen. Portions are generous, making it a good value, especially for anyone looking to stretch a meal into leftovers for the next day.

The atmosphere inside is simple and functional, with a no-frills dining area that focuses more on practicality than aesthetics. It’s the kind of place where you don’t linger for hours, but it works well for a relaxed, low-key meal. The service matches that vibe-efficient, polite, and to the point. Orders come out quickly, which is a big plus if you’re grabbing lunch on a tight schedule.

Looking through customer reviews, there’s a clear pattern of people praising the speed of service and the consistency of the food. While it may not compete with high-end Chinese restaurants in terms of presentation or specialty dishes, it holds its own as a dependable option for everyday dining. The menu variety ensures there’s something for everyone, whether you’re in the mood for a hearty combination platter or a lighter vegetable-based dish.

One thing worth noting is that, like many small local diners, the experience can vary slightly depending on timing and staff availability, but overall it delivers what it promises: straightforward, satisfying Chinese cuisine in a convenient Morrisville location.

What People's Say About Place

Stopped by to get lunch (dined in). I ordered the fried tofu with mixed vegetable lunch special which came with plain fried rice and also a piece of vegetable spring roll. The main dish was cooked with brown sauce. The food was tasty, I especially like the fried tofu. Limited indoor seating available and I didn’t see any chairs outside.

Since I been back in my home state, I had to hit up some of my favorite foods. I am not trying to make this a battle but Chinese food taste better on the East coast. This food was fresh, tasty, and delicious!

Have Been Here Three Times In 3 Weeks, As It Is Close To Work For Lunch. I Gave It A Chance... So Glad I Did. I'm Vegan, So Quick Food Options Are Usually Scarce. Crispy Fried Tofu, Veggies Bursting With Colourful Flavors, Saffron Vegetable Fried Rice... They Catered To My Needs Easily & Precisely. Spring Rolls Are Crispy, But A Bit On The Greasy Side. They Have CV19 Precautions In Place & Are Masked At All Times. Busy Place ( Took 12 Orders In The 8 Minutes I Waited For My Lunch) But They Still Doled Out Deliciousness With A Smile. Strongly Recommend If You Are Near Brier Creek... Drive Just A Bit Longer!

The food here is always good, from my experience, except for the spring rolls. Mushy, cubed vegetables in a crispy wonton- utterly disappointing when you want an egg roll. If you're going to send them with an order also containing egg rolls, bag them separately.

The food was great and it was made super fast for a Friday night! I definitely recommend.

Food always fresh!!! Staff very nice and service is fast. And they now deliver and food os always nice and hot!!!

My favorite Chinese restaurant on that side of town! Lunch specials are the best!

Love this spot, the best hot and sour soup I've had in sooo long. Staff is always nice and friendly, super fast service and food. Can't ask for more in my opinion.
